My Very Colorful Yet Affordable Caribbean Island Style

I do not believe in spending loads of money for warm weather clothes. Something about the fact that there’s minimal fabric means that the prices should also be minimal. Haha! Seriously – much of my warm weather clothing has been thrifted, repurposed, or purchased at extremely low prices.

I’m sharing some of my inexpensive Caribbean outfits, that also reflect the colorful, relaxed vibes of the islands, mon! Shopping info is included…

One of the best parts about the Caribbean is how chill it is. In fact, it is pretty much the opposite of New York, where I live :). My boyfriend and I – in need of relaxation, sun, and warm – traveled to a couple islands.

The three islands we traveled to were: St. Maarten for Christmas (more pics/activities here: 6 reasons to visit and 5 affordable things to do), St. Lucia for my birthday, and Cancun over Easter.

This sundress is from Target, it’s lightweight and doesn’t wrinkle.

These tennis shoes are Nike Air Scandals.

Tank from Madewell and skirt is Calvin Klein, which I cut and frayed myself.

This racerback tank is from Madewell and the cutoffs I made out of old Gap flare jeans.

The nautical striped shorts are by Joe Fresh, but I got them from Buffalo Exchange. The sandals are by Paul Andrew, I rave about them because I snagged them for the low-low at a sample sale (some of my best sample sale finds are here). Glasses are by Perverse.

This top is from Hustle Vintage, the shorts are from Target, and the sandals are Via Spiga which I got from Nordstrom Rack.

The black Alexander Wang tank and Thakoon shorts are both from Designer Revival, my go-to consignment shop for discounted high end items. The leather jacket is Express, I think I’ve had it since high school. Leather is timeless!

My one and only cover-up is by Victoria Secret.

The pink/green bathing suit is from Old Navy (they’re so inexpensive!!).

The first pair of sunglasses are vintage eyeglass frames that have been modified with sunglass lenses. Cool right? Unfortunately, I don’t recall the vendor’s name.

The other sunnies are all from Perverse. You can shop these items on Amazon – and others I really like – by clicking directly on the pic.

I got this bag years ago at a market on one of the islands.

The bag is Rebecca Minkoff (here on Amazon).
