What I Wore In: Cancun, Mexico

We all know Cancun gets turned up, so bringing clothes that you can cut a rug in is a must. But did you know that Cancun has really great restaurants? Plus, the turn up doesn’t have to be all day (although that’s an option too). During the day, we spent most of our time at the rooftop pool of our hotel and lazily strolling around the area.

Check out what I wore in Cancun, Mexico to stay comfortable while absorbing Vitamin D and getting to know the town.

I’m wearing Thakoon shorts and an Alexander Wang tank (both purchased from my favorite designer consignment store, Designer Revival, on the Upper East Side) with Paul Andrew sandals. I always bring sleeves or a jacket (because I get cold easily) and I’m so glad I did. It was incredibly chilly and breezy at night. This leather motorcycle jacket is from Express and the crossbody fringe bag is Rebecca Minkoff.

As you may have noticed, nearly all the bags I post are crossbody bags. I like them because they keep your purse close to your body (grandma taught me this one as a safety precaution) and 2) they allow you to complete keep your hands free. I like this particular bag a lot – the fringe is funky and fun and the color goes with everything! It comes in about 10-15 colors. Who doesn’t love options? 🙂

The blue mirrored sunglasses are from Perverse.

This bathing suit is by Lucky Brand via Marshalls. I don’t believe in spending more than $20-$30 on bathing suits so I look for the best value options. Old Navy is typically my go-to.

The coverup is from Victoria Secret. It’s lightweight and has a drawstring to cinch it at the waist, which creates a nice shape.

This is my airport outfit. I prefer to fly in pants (jeans or leggings) because the temperatures on the planes are usually cold to me. I also don’t like my legs touching the seats (I get my germaphobe qualities from my grandmother, lol). For those same reasons, I wear shoes that fully cover my feet.

Hopefully, that explains why I’m so fully clothed in 80+ degree weather :).

Anyhoo, the jeans with zipper detail on the back (not visible in this pic) are by Paige and the top is from a shop on Fancy.com. Fancy is like the adult, sophisticated, high-end version of Spencer Gifts…remember them?

Sunnies are from Perverse. You know I always have to add a pop of color. Similar versions are here and here.
